And if you don’t know, now ya know…

We’re hereeee! I am so pleased to announce the newest One in A Million release Lewis and the Sandwich Map. A labor of love, this beautifully written book was created by Cliff R. Jackson. He also happens to be the first external author to be signed to One in A Million. I was so excited to bring Cliff on after his sister, Lyrric reached out to me. Then I got the chance to read his manuscript and was blown away. I’m not sure if Cliff realizes his impact, but everyday we work with him helps us live out part of our mission and vision — amplifying the voices of authors of color and diversifying the book industry. With only 24% of published authors being authors of color, Cliff’s work will help make so much change within the industry.

Here’s the thing, Cliff isn’t the only person to help us live out our mission and vision. We’ve gotten the chance to work with the most amazing illustrator there is — Jasmine Ali (seriously, go check out her work). This is the second book Jasmine has illustrated for One in A Million. Her illustrations have brought our literature to life in ways I never thought possible. Her use of vivid colors, strong lines and shapes, and character placement helps move the storyline along wonderfully. She truly captures the essence of the story through her work.
