Black Girl Magic
I just came from church and found myself reflecting on the trajectory of my life and the company. As I reflected, I thought about my purpose and what I am meant to do in this world. Right now, my life is in flux at all points. It's chaotic and unnerving and... empowering and scary.
One thing that is very clear is that there's a lot of black girl magic going on around me. My best friend's sister, Jasmine Ali, is almost done illustrating my first ever book. (Please check out her work here! She's amazing). My Spelman sister, Lyrric Jackson has sent amazing people my way (please check out her dance company here!). She also sent me templates for contracts and links to grants and funding. My blood, my sister, Chantelle, is working on marketing with me (check out her work here!)
I feel incredibly blessed and grateful right now! My support system is so strong. I am surrounded by people who truly want to see me win. I am so excited to see where this journey will take me. So here's to black girl magic. To black owned magic. To all things black.
